Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT) takes the Digital Twin Technology to the Industry.

DeKUT through the Siemens Training and Certification Centre has developed a technology called the Digital Twin that makes it possible for a system to be replicated in a virtual form such that it can be used, monitored and controlled virtually. This technology has been tested and verified at the centre. In a publication titled Process Modelling of Geothermal Drilling System Using Digital Twin for Real-Time Monitoring and Control the Digital twin technology aims to address the challenge in the Geothermal drilling system.

Geothermal well drilling

The proposed digital twin technology facilitates inexperienced personnel to real-time drilling bit such as speed, feed, irregularities, etc. and decide to take measures which may lead to faster maintenance at a reduced cost.

Take a look at the publication to read more on the concept and methodology for this new technology.
