Solar and the SDGs – How Raynow Energy Contributes to the Global Goals

By Raynow Energy | April 2025

Nairobi, Kenya — As global momentum builds toward achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Raynow Energy is demonstrating how clean energy solutions can be a powerful force for social, environmental, and economic transformation. Through its commitment to sustainability, education, and community development, the company is contributing directly to the advancement of key global goals.

In a bid to make clean energy more accessible and impactful at the grassroots level, Raynow Energy, in collaboration with RES4Africa Foundation, the Micro Grid Academy, and Sapienza Università di Roma, supported a solar installation at North Highridge Secondary School. The initiative not only delivered a photovoltaic solar system to the school but also served as a practical training opportunity, equipping students and local technicians with hands-on experience in renewable energy systems.

“Installing solar panels at North Highridge was about more than just electricity, it was about creating an environment for practical learning,” said Brian Masoso, Project Manager at Raynow Energy. “The students got to see sustainable technology in action, and some even participated in basic system familiarization.” This initiative directly supports: SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean EnergySDG 4 – Quality Education, SDG 13 – Climate Action

Students and technicians at North Highridge Secondary School engage with the newly installed solar system, gaining firsthand experience in clean energy technology as part of a grassroots sustainability initiative.

We furthered our commitment to youth empowerment by participating in the 37th edition of the RES4Africa Foundation Academy’s Technical and Vocational School, held at Strathmore University’s Energy Research Centre. In partnership with the RES4Africa Foundation, Micro Grid Academy, Sapienza Università di Roma, and Makerere University, the academy brought together 21 young professionals from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Zambia for an intensive, hands-on learning experience.

Raynow Energy played a key role in the academy by offering hands-on demonstrations and expert-led sessions. The team showcased the SolarCleano F1 robot, an advanced tool for automated solar panel cleaning, and presented ChemiTek solar cleaning solutions, emphasizing the importance of proper maintenance for long-term system efficiency. In addition, Raynow facilitated knowledge-sharing sessions on solar system upkeep and performance optimization. This initiative reinforced several Sustainable Development Goals,  SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals

As the world accelerates toward a clean energy future, Raynow Energy remains committed to ensuring that sustainability is not just an outcome, but a guiding principle across all its operations
